Choosing the right accounting professional should be similar to choosing the right Doctor, Dentist, or Lawyer. Most people would never let their neighbor do their dental work, handle their legal matters, or diagnosis their medical issues. The reasoning is simple people have “peace of mind” going to a professional who has spent years in school, training, is licensed and spends hours each year continuing their education.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) –
As a CPA, I am required to continue my education (CPE) just like any doctor, lawyer and most other professionals. Every CPA is required to have 120 hours of continuing professional education (CPE), every three years. Each year I study law changes, tax planning, and various business tax and bookkeeping developments.
